The interstellar jazz group's first record in 20 years carries their late leader's wide-reaching legacy across stunning new vistas. Bandcamp Album of the Day Nov 9, 2020
Thanks to Laurie Pepper for a great Christmas present! Not surprisingly, the highlight is Art's ballad feature, (Somewhere) Over The Rainbow, but everybody plays well throughout. Zoot really shines on the surprisingly uptempo Girl From Ipanema. He should have been recorded live more often. He always brought a little extra when spurred on by another top saxophonist, and who better to spur him on than Art Pepper? Great recording quality too. waylonfeedback
